Claiming petrol costs as a tax deduction
There are two ways to work out petrol and oil costs.  The ATO allows you use your petrol and oil receipts if you have them or you can make a reasonable estimate based on your odometer records.  The tables below are a guide to the average retail price of unleaded petrol in each capital city.
